At Wheatbelt NRM Inc. we have searched for data that can help us monitor the population dynamics and opportunities for people of the region. At a regional and sub-regional level we can report on the number of people living in close proximity to major centres and the direction of population change (growth or decline). We can also follow the changing size of farms, changing age-structure, high school enrolment numbers, and employment rates as indicators of opportunities for young people.

The graph shows the age structure of the total population of the Wheatbelt NRM region based on Local Government Areas (LGA) that fall entirely or partially within the region.
